This presentation starts with a simple block of code written by the Lazy Programmer, to observe how laziness made the code more compact and simpler. We then define the Principle of Least Authority(POLA), and explain why it is a best practice for secure programming. We show how laziness in that first example enabled enforcement of POLA. We then put the Lazy Programmer through a series of increasingly more difficult tasks as management attempts to make the Lazy Programmer work hard. To achieve maximum laziness, the Lazy Programmer is driven toward increasingly more modular, encapsulating OO designs that happen to implement POLA; ultimately compelled to build systems with defense in depth to avoid work. A secret truth is thus revealed: lazy OO programmers have been using secure techniques for decades, if only they had known. We then describe the tools that turn laziness into correctly enforced security for JavaScript, Java, and distributed computing. Marc Stiegler is a researcher at Hewlett-Packard Labs who has written "Introduction to Capability Based Security," and designed CapDesk and Polaris, a windows overlay that isolates applications from one another to allow virus safe computing.

Now, while Contra games don't necessarily have a great story to tell, this one takes the cake of being the most hilariously campy one of them all. It is told through still cutscenes that hardly make much sense as to what is currently going on while playing. Not to mention that some of the dialouge is cheesy to read. Presentation - It is clearly apparent that Konami wanted to have Contra ReBirth look like a 16-bit game, and it succeeds in that area. However, a lot of the environments in the game look rather bland and devoid of a lot of personality which can hurt the overall visual punch--with the exception of the last two levels which manage to pick up a bit in terms of art style luckily. When it comes to animation, Contra ReBirth does succeed in having multiple explosions and having most of the enemies animate fluidly. Overall, the graphics do their job decently even if some levels end up looking a bit bland. Sound - The music is a blast to listen to. Some may not like Hitoshi Sakimoto's compositions, or just hate him for the fact that he replaced Uematsu on the Final Fantasy music front, but I for one am a big fan of his. He's given Final Fantasy games some of the most epic sounding boss tunes the series has ever seen. This theme is no exception. Now, if you're familiar with the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 (A2) Soundtrack, you'll notice some tracks from FFXII in there, specifically, the boss battle theme, aptly named "That Which Stands in the Way" in FFTA2. I've noticed some difference between the tracks, specifically with drums, but when placed just right, (along with other brass instruments) it can make one particular part sound really epic. What you might or might not be hearing (depending if you know the two songs well enough) is NOT the DS version of the song, obviously, since you can tell simply by the quality. However, hearing the FFXII boss theme on a DS is simply bad ass in itself. By the way, there are remastered soundtracks for both of the hand held Advance games, I'd recommend getting them. Now. Based on ECMAScript 5's new "property descriptor" API, we built a portable lightweight library that supports trait-based object composition. First of all, I would like to say that this is in no way my best run of this boss. You can blame the two times I got hit on the "let's play curse". I do realize that there is some glare in the first part before the boss fight, but it eventually fixes itself. Speaking of the boss fight, this fight has some of the best music in the game, if not the series. The brawl remix (intro music) has nothing on the original. As for the boss itself, zero 2 (02) is apparently the final boss of Kirby's dreamland 3 "reborn", which explain the wings and halo. As for the rest of its creepy appearance (especially the happy face that turns into a giant red eye he gives you right before the battle), I have no idea. Kirby games just happen to have unusually creepy final bosses in comparison to the rest of this childish game. Now, without further ado: Final Boss Zero Two: -Please turn annotations ON. -It's just like Nintendo to throw a completely new game element at the final boss. Kirby and Ribbon team up and use the crystal shard gun (made from acquiring all shards in the game). Ribbon gives you the ability to fly and maneuver through the air. The shard gun, as you have guessed, shoots an infinite amount of shards at 02. -Maneuvering is surprisingly confusing until you get the hang of it. Moving Kirby through the air is actually moving him AROUND 02. Twist that was an evil eurwarm. Anyway had a bit of trouble packing; I need to get rid of maps/guides and I can't decide wether to throw or send home. Went down for breakfast and an incomprehensible question about the other breakfast guest. Who comes down and explains that we have to leave the dining room by 8.45. Breakfast is miserly but she brightens it up. She's an actress in Paris moonlighting organising a screenwriters conference. Bourges is rather provincial for her but then 10 days in a hostel that doesn't stretch to a TV would be pretty testing. So we have a nice chat about how rule bound these places are. Even with 2 guests the serving lady insists that we put our own dishes in particular trays and supervises. How lazy can you get. Incidentally this hostel is closed until 6pm each day and they have rented out the breakfast and other room for meetings starting at the same time as breakfast finishes. Even a 10 year old could suggest easier ways of doing it, that telling your guests that they must leave early. Anyway todays mission is a much more respectable distance to a town called Nevers ...
